An all-day seminar split into three individual sessions designed to introduce the Athena SWAN Charter for women in science, engineering and technology to the sector and explore the Athena SWAN awards process. This seminar was open to universities interested in joining the Athena SWAN Charter, and to those universities and departments wishing to submit for an Athena SWAN award in 2011.

This initiative is championed by Professor Alison Richard, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge and Professor Shirley Pearce, Vice Chancellor of Loughborough University.
 
Early career staff in university STEMM departments need objective advice on research and academic career pathways.  There is a dearth of accessible, useful and practical advice for individuals starting their careers and this Guide aims to fill that gap.
