The Athena SWAN awards seminar took place on Monday, 15 February 2010 at the
Royal Academy of Engineering. It was afternoon seminar with guest speakers that
explored the Athena SWAN awards process. The aim was to help universities wishing
to submit for an Athena SWAN award in 2010 understand what the judging panel is
looking for, exchange good practice, and network with other Charter members.
Julie Ashdown presented on the awards process, providing guidance on the application

info@oxfordresearchandpolicy.co.uk) discussed statistics. He talked about context, trends and actions, presentation
of data and what the judges will be looking for at each level.
Averil Macdonald gave some more insight into what the judges would be looking
for and talked about statistics, action plans, case studies and reporting. Download
